Trinity Church

Built in the 1800's, Trinity Episcopal Church is a prominent Elmira, New York landmark. Johnson-Schmidt and Associates were retained to undertake a condition assessment of the unusual masonry steeple and to develop a plan for its restoration. After completing the assessment, JS&A identified and worked closely with International Chimney Corporation, a contractor with special expertise in stabilizing and restoration of historic steeples. To stabilize the structure over the winter, the steeple was wrapped with chicken wire and splints. A full restoration will begin in spring 2007.
